Good morning

Good morning....I have just recently joined this site and came across this group. I am a cop in Colorado. Currently a detective (or in my case, a defective), having spent time working gangs, Crimes Against Children and patrol.

I look forward to seeing everything in here, trying to learn and seeing what I might be able to contribute.

One of my old partner when I worked in Gangs is from Philly. He retired from there and has been with my department for about 15 years. Whenever he would go back to Philly and come back, I had to translate on the radio for him. One of the dispatchers once told us that he was forbidden to talk on the radio for awhile until he was understandable again.

Definitely a HUGE difference between the East Coast and here!

Thank you both very much. I have alot to learn, but have to say that I have learned so much already. I have my phone (XV-6800 flashed to Cricket) set up pretty much the way that I want it. I have a few more tweaks that i want to do (primarily of the calendar) and then it will be "finished" (well like it ever will be). My next step is to spend some time in the books and various sites learning some more in-depth things. I.E.- loading custom ROMs etc. That is still a little bit away, but slowly I am thinking that I am beginning to undrestand some things.

that's sounds like one of the guys from the 24th, i believe he's from Israel or somewhere from those parts.He's sharp and is good with live stop..hahahah i think he been in the force for about 2 to 3 years.

Very much obliged....when I see him next week, I will have to ask him which precinct he worked. I very much appreciate all your help (that I have read from other threads) and look forward to learning even more. Unfortunately, I have been spending WAY to much time in here! This past week I have been on searching and reading til 2 or 3 in the morning every day! But I have my 6800 (vzw flashed to CricKet) smokin! I have been reading D/\sh's tutorial on flashing. When I can get my hands on another phone, I am going to print everything out and go step by step and see what happens!

I finally ran into the guy who used to work in Philly....He worked in Transit (about 30 years ago) and spent about 10 years in th 19th and about 10 as a Sgt. in the 90th....(I might have those reveresed)....Retired from Philly and headed out out here. He has been with us for almost 15 years.

yea lot of the guys leave philly to go else where.My pop retired and moved to Florida and is living his retirement out there..

My GF grew up in FL....she wants us all to go back there this summer.....Should be interesting....I am actually looking forward to seeing her parents again. (Wow, i wonder if i still qualify to be a son in law?)

lol...i love it out there i have a piece of property in crescent city still under development out there but its peaceful.

i havent been out of Colorado since 2005 and that was only a quick jaunt to Vegas...since i am a single father with sole custody of my two kids (1 special needs) vacations are a daunting proposition....but, if we can pull it off I am stoked to be able to go someplace else for a bit.
