Enabling DSL speeds on your i930..........Thanks to bigmattfromjersey for this tutorial
This is a quick tutorial on how to use activesync on your i930 and also let your i930 use Internet explorer
1. For free thru your prior DSL connection
2. At near DSL speeds for everything including Outlook express
To use this trick you must have:
-An i930
-A DSL Connection already installed in your computer and fully functioning.
-Activesync up and running
This will only work while the phone is in activesync. There will be a free internet released for the i930, but not yet, as i'm still working out a few bugs with the i930 IE explorer.
To do this:
1: Hit Start
2: Go to Settings
3: Go to Data connections (you might have to hit 9 for more)
4. Go to Internet Connection
5. Hit Menu
6. Scroll to where it says "My Desktop connects to:" and change it to The Internet
7. Once back in Internet Connection screen, Set to "Pass through connection" (it was probably set on automatic)
Now hit Done until your back at the main screen, then go to Start, then Internet Explorer.
Make sure your phone is still connected, and then go to the address bar
and enter whatever location you want.
Downloads faster, and works alot better.
This is def. great for someone who uses Outlook and syncs the phone with it
