I just installed 6.5 and the recommended cab for Verizon. Still no GPS. I have previously tried the fix aGPS using Serf Telus. I have tried Valhalla. Nada on all counts. Question. Should I have stopped customizations from running when installing this ROM? Last week I installed a rom and didn't letting customs run and my ability to make calls was blocked. I had to speak to VZN investigations unit for them to flip a switch and get it working again. Please help, I'm loosing the faith.

Thanks in advance.:connie_mykilroy:

whats the recommended cab you are talking about? if you got it here why didnt you post your question in that thread? you have to give us details because we dont know what cab you installed, how you did it, if you soft reset the device afterwards, etc.

Sorry, I am referring to NFSFAN's 6.5 ver 11 ROM. I did soft reset after install. Also, I thought I was in the forum for that topic that's why I didn't mention it in my post. I was on the page, but........anyway I'll do better next time.

You can use the info here to get it working:

Code:

Once problem with NFSFan's v 11 ROM is that the serial port does not show up when you put the phone in diagnostics mode and connect to your computer.

The easiest way to do this is to reflash the stock ROM. Go through all the steps in the thread above. Then you can flash to the NFSFan ROM. The changes you make with QPST will carry over.

Also, there is a gps reg file included with the ROM in .cab format. That did not work for me. I used the reg .cab file included with the above post and gps works great.

Thanks Ketil, do I let customizations run at each flash?

I followed the instructions and unfortunately, still nothing.

I'm on Alltel. Of course the stock ROM will always be safe to allow the customizations to run on.

The NFSFan ROM is made for all carriers. I allowed it to run customizations. It did not require the installation of the carrier cab.

The only additional cab I had to install was the Alltel GPS cab from the agps thread I post before.

i'm having a similar issue with v12 of NSF... i can get QPST up w/ NSF's rom, i've tried a number of different IP and modes, if anyone w/ a working GPS could give me the IP address settings they are using, i would like to try those.

for reference i went through all the steps, here:

Code:
http://wiki.ppchaven.com/index.php?title=Pocket_PC_WIki:FIX_VERIZON_GPS

and here:

Code:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=VerizonAGPSFix

then found a number of different GPS IPs posted around the web, with a number of different settings, any have one that is definitively working as of today/yesterday?

for VERIZON.. (i cant test other carriers):

found my own solution, follow the steps in my above post... then:

w/ NFSFan dial ##3424# to open DMR, it will open, and soon go away, then dial ##3424# again and it will open, this time it will stay on the DMR screen (don't touch anything on your phone) As long as you are on the DMR screen you can access the phone via QPST set the phone via QPST to:

IP Addy: 195.207.101.126
Port: 7788
Trasnport: IP
Pos Calc: Mobile

exit DMR and soft-reset the phone

then in the registry set:
[HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL GPS]
\EnableAGPS = 1
\EnableSmartMode = 1
\GPSMode = 4 (should also work as 2)
\NumberFixes = 999999999
\QoSAccuracy = 50
\QoSPerformance = 89
\ServerIP = 195.207.101.126
\ServerPort = 7788
\timeBetweenFixes = 1

soft reset again

and it should work (well it does for me)
