Welcome to my kitchen!

Here's what's on the menu today...
MenuTools.png

This is an HTC Herman CDMA ROM, based on Windows Mobile 6.5. The current build number and date can be seen in the title of this thread.

I always build my ROMs with three main goals.

  • Eye candy.
  • Speed!!
  • Smoothness, consistency and good esthetics.

I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go, how I'd want it. So, expect the backlight to be set at the maximum brightness, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set.

You will find a new ROM posted here every few days, as I always update them with the latest "ingredients" that come down the pipe, from either Microsoft or HTC. Because of that, I recommend learning to backup your settings with either Sashimi or UC (User Customization).

I usually make 3 versions of this ROM. If you don't see one in the download directory, it either means I haven't uploaded it OR I'm not making one for the current release yet.

Here are the different versions and what they mean.

  • "Standard" includes the new TF3D2 (Rhodium Manila) along with the standard Windows Mobile 6.5 today plugin (Titanium*) and the Tachi dialer

  • "Titanium" only includes the Titanium today plugin. No Manila in this version. This also includes the regular HTC dialer

You will find TWO core versions of each of the above versions.

One
based on an the latest official windows build (currently 21864) and the other, built on the latest beta.

Currently the fast, stable, most bug free "official build" is 21864. I recommend you start with that first! :)

Re: |HERM|65|ROM|WWE| EnergyROM 30 Phoenix (21232) || Build date 52309

This has been updated with the following updates.

- Updated some icons
- Updated to 21725
- Added Keylock in Settings
- Removed Beejive
- Streamlined customizations process
- Turned microsoft prediction on in writing sms, email.. etc
- Disabled ET9 by default
- Updated to 6.5 bootlauncher, task manager, volume control and 6.5 HTCScroll!
- Updated ALL drivers to latest MS Build for Raphael
- Splash screen will optional from now and a separate download
- Updated all widgets to 1.XXX versions
- Cleaned up some more junk
- Added Fringe ringtone back in the list
- Removed SIM Manager
- YouTube video fixed

On a personal note after fixing some of the issues I had (all of which where listed on his 4th post on ppcgeeks) this is for me atleast hands down the best 6.5 ROM. VERY stable, VERY fast and looks AMAZING. WM 6.5 is now MORE than usable even with TF3D2. I have had NO problems with anything, this is IMO almost as stable as the mighty 4 series (with a couple fixes).

Re: |HERM|65|ROM|WWE| EnergyROM 30 Phoenix (21232) || Build date 52309

The server is up and there is a new version out with some key fixes (for me atleast).

You guys should really try this ROM. This guy has been making this rom for gsm for awhile and is a well know xda member, not just some rookie ROM maker.

trentonmac's EnergyROM 3.0 mini-review

ROM is a bit big to download and the server is a bit slow, but worth the wait. The new file only includes the .nbh file so you will have to cut and paste this file with the .nbh file from another ROM and install as normal, or you can use a SD card. NRGZ uses his own custom screens for the install. After the os installs and reboots it will start to run the customization process. I'm not sure if it is Sasmi or UC compatable.

I downloaded the standard version which includes titanium and TF3D2. I don't use the titanium personally but it appears to work as it should. This rom does like all TF3D2 roms have the 1 hour off time problem. I fix this by using g alarm and a cab from his ppcgeeks post to launch galarm when i press the time. btw you will have to install a carrier cab to get your internet working. All the features of TF3D2 work as they should with no problems.

This ROM does have a 4 row wm6.5 start menu and is customized with his own icons and he has also organized all the programs into custom folders which include Games, GPS, Internet, Multimedia, System, Office Mobile and Utilities. It has a very clean look overall and his custom icons set it apart from any other ROM ive used. There is also a custom taskbar which looks pretty good. He has also put in the onscreen keyboard from juicy 7 roms, which is I beleive what the new TP2's will have and is much nicer than most.

In general it is not quite the fast as some roms but its loaded and works great and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to you guys.

This is the only reason I have not gave this rom a spin. I don't know if I want to trouble shoot any errors. I know he does good work, but I can't get past the extra cab. Kinda makes me nervous to flash something that messes with the radio settings. But I'm itching to try it out thou..........

I've flashed all 3 releases of his ROM and the first time i didnt even need the cab, 2nd and third I did and installed the sprint carrier cab reset and no problems at all.

Re: |HERM|65|ROM|WWE| EnergyROM 30 Phoenix (21232) || Build date 52309

so, how is the battery life? I'm getting three days on MR5 with casual use. Several phone calls, 100 texts and some net, within the three days. heavy use, I'm getting around two days.

I gotta say if your getting 3 days, stick with MR5, battery life was one thing I forgot about since I have access to a charger all the time so I never think of it, but battery life is actually not the best. You have to change backlight, beam settings or its really bad. I havent gotten more than a full day w/o a charge.

Re: |HERM|65|ROM|WWE| EnergyROM 30 Phoenix (21232) || Build date 52309

^^^^^thats really a shame.

hurrmmm....well for right now I too have access to a charger 24/7. But in a few months I'm moving to another department at work and I'll be traveling around during my shift and when I need my phone I can't afford to have to keep charging it.

Thanks for the info.
