Diamond battery life

Note that both phones have the same 1340mAh battery, but Sprint claims .75 hours more talk time on the Touch Diamond

I think the only reason I would get a Touch Diamond Pro over the Standard Diamond is if there was a significantly larger battery in the Pro, but apparently its the same size.

Anyone know any different?

dunt actually have a diamond but since its wm based shouldn't the registry tweaks be the same as even the mogul? aka these

1. HKLM\Comm\AsyncMac1\Parms\DisablePowerManagement
Change Dword value from 1 (default) to 0

2. HKLMComm\Irsir1\Parms\DisablePowerManagement
Change Dword value from 1 (default) to 0

3. HKLM\Comm\PPTP1\Parms\DisablePowerManagement
Change Dword value from 1 (default) to 0

4. HKLM\Comm\L2TP1\Parms\DisablePowerManagement
Change Dword value from 1 (default) to 0

then on top of that did htc ever fix the activesync issue where you gotta do about 3 changes to make it work properly?

Battery Life? What battery life? I read the pcgeek link. So I'm supposed to turn off BT and all the other assorted godies then I will have a whole big deal 24 hour charge? And here I was thinking this phone would blow the doors off my Razr..........it does if I only care about using it for a few hours a day. Geez! Now about a ROM update, upgrade? Where and how do I find this, do this again? I saw something somewhere about this but being ancient my memory isn't what it used to be AND my batteries are running low so any help for my synaptic challenged grey goo would be appreciated. Like a techicolor picture maybe?

look at the rom area from the side menu.... i would recommend the juicy rom.

Just an observation on battery life. Last week was my first week with the Diamond. I use Exchange/Push Mail all week long. My battery tanks so fast. For instance today, took it off the charger at 8am and by 11am it is nearly down to 60-70% remaining. I have not had a single call, only 5 or 6 text messages, 1 browser view, and added Hotmail as an email account to check (so it sync contacts and email.)

This weekend (Sat/Sun) when push mail is on off peak schedule (ie every 4 hrs), my battery life never went down below 50%.the entire day without being placed on charger. That is with some mild phone use, lots of texts, and light data use.

This is on the stock ROM and the battery "pollinterval" registry edit.

Re: Diamond battery life--For Dash

Which ver of Juicy? And it would help if I knew where to d/l it or save it, etc. Also if I nuke any apps I might like how do I get the cabs for them and how do I install them, etc? I know, super needy, I hate that. I got Sprint to agree to take back moded ROM version if this doesn't fix my battery usage probs.

Help Mister Wizard........:bgcool:

guys as said around the board and in this thread already go to the newest version of juicy (thread always updated) the battery life is sooooo much better even with push email.....

i would flash to that for sure :>

Running Juicys latest rom and occasionally Ill have a day where I wont use phone and battery drops by 30 percent will no to little use I found a resolution soft reset phone and batt meter jumps back up...works for only acts up occasionally suppose its a minor glitch in the rom

I am really tempted to flash to the juicy ROM just to see. It is just I read through the ROM version change log, and alot of this stuff means very little to me.

For instance, "Back to 6mb PP (default) *PP Changer APP Included" What the heck does that mean? "Hidden Notification Settings" "Fixed Mobile Calculator (what the heck can be wrong with a calculator????? LOL)" "enhanced Java Support for Opera 2392" "dynamic Pagepool *0mb *pp" The list goes on, and on....

IS THIS EVEN ENGLISH? I am affraid even after years of college and 15 years IT experiecence I am not speaking the language.

Is there a version that just shows comparitively what apps are in/out of each ROM in relationship to the stock ROM? It is hard to trace back over the many versions what has been added/removed if you dont know the history of the ROM.

Also, I see at the top it is based on a Telus ROM. So the sprint bloatware is not included, which you describe as Navigation and TV. What else isnt included and I am going to have to hunt down or know I am going to live with out. The screen shots show Telus as the home screen brand? On the Sprint ROM is it Sprint branded? I would think that would be a dead give away if I had to take it into a Sprint store for repair and they saw that. Very sure the voids your warranty right then and there.

Sorry, i know it is easy to flash a ROM. But I also know the risks, and the way my luck is going lately... i will be 1% of failure during the install. LOL So I would like to know what I am really getting here... in english. :) I know I am going to get a lot of hate back on this, but if the canned forum recommendation is going to be flash to the juicy ROM... would help to have a very simple description of what you are getting.

I saw somewhere there was the stock ROM stached somewhere. Is that posted in the ROM area too? I didnt see it at first glance.

holy shit long enough and ask enough questions? why wasnt this asked in the juicy rom? lmao just giving you a hard time.

1. pagepool- basically this is the refresh rate and changing this effects the way that the phone will run and at what speed it will run at.
2. hidden notifications is like the text sent message after you send out a text...
3. its an aftermarket calculator and building custom sometimes clashes things.
4. the changelog that you are reading in the post and metioned tells you what is added and changed... start at the beginning and go to current.
5. as the thread says all of the sprint stuff you have on your phone wont be there but the cabs to install them are here if you wanted to... (i do just the nav.)
6. no it will not say that, the creator of this rom lives in canada. the banner that sprint has is actually gone and not even showing so no worries.
7. and yes if you need it you can get it here:
https://www.androidmobilejunkie.com/showthread.php?t=174525&highlight=back+stock

hope this helps you understand what is being talked about now a lil better :>

YOu are always helpful my friend. :) I was using those as examples as to what I should focus on to know what is missing. I will search for the Sprint apps; however i would want Nav, Music, and TV for sure.

Sorry, i know this is the battery thread. I can always copy and paste to the other thread if you like. <grin>

But what would be good would post screen shots of each of the "tabs" or "tiles" and major differences of the Sprint ROM.

you lost me on that last part :< :PDT_Armataz_01_41:

on the diamond you hit home and you see the icons at the bottom (i call them tabs or tiles). Would be good to see how each of them change in the juicy sprint ROM. And even installing the sprint tv CAB, do you get a tab/tile/icon or does it just become a program in "programs" section? Same with Music? Navigation is in programs and not on a tab of its own anyway so that dont matter.

I just dont know what what actually "sprintized" on the diamond to know what it will look like without the "bloatware." Therefore screen shots of the icons/tabs would be good to see how different the menu slider at the bottom is.

you would have to make a custom icon for something like that from what i can remember.... but you can always just add the icons to the programs tab and have it up top for quick access....... just not as big but easier to get to since it is right at the end :>

true enough. i take it the rest of the icons are the same. Sprint TV was the only one added... and the Sprint music store on the Music tab was special too?
