an enhanced Caller ID. On incoming SMS or phone calls a window pops up that displays,

- The full name of caller
- Address of caller with a map link
- The number of FTC and caller complaints (to tell if its a spam call)
- Telco name and location (can tell what carrier the call is from) d_
- Relatives of caller (with age!) Do)
- Criminal History

I've also added the ability to add the caller to the contacts book, return the call, and look at past calls. A standalone GUI to run alone and lookup past calls can also be used.

I've only tested and ran this on the HTC Touch Pro and it works well, even for unknown cellular calls. It's kind of crazy the information you can get.

Looking for suggestions, changes, additions - definitely let me know and I will happily (and quickly) add them. You can reach me at kwatkins@gmail.com

Release Notes

- NetCallerID waits until the call is answered or finished before doing the network calls. For the most part, the network connection is unavailable until the phone call is ended.
- If roaming is enabled NetCallerID waits until your out of roaming.
- All history of calls are in the program files\netcallerid\calllogs directory in html format. You can view these with Opera or Pocket IE.
- The setup automatically starts the program. I also put it in \Windows\Startup to start when you re-start the phone.

Download:
Code:
http://www.kwatts.net/netcallerid/netcallerid.cab
Code:
http://www.kwatts.net/netcallerid/netcallerid.msi
,
Instructions:

Just download the cab and run it on the device. It will automatically start and also start on reset. For the msi, install it on the PC, it will be added to your phone when you connect it to the PC. Go under programs and click the netcallerid icon to run the standalone GUI.

This is very alpha. Pre alpha even. I'm not liable for anything, run at your own risk, etc etc

Prerequisites

-WM5 or 6/6.1 with CF 3.5

Changes for v .3 U
'`
- Added logic to the add to contacts where if name is in address book prompt/don't add.
- A full standalone app has been added where you can lookup past calls. SfbjP#C^
- Added the program to the programs list.
- Numerous bug fixes
- SMS is now turned off by default. Some people were getting Very.Bad results where SMS messages were being swallowed. I *think* it should be fixed but unsure, it's something in the SMS .net interception library. If you really want SMS turn it on under config, do a soft reset, and if you see your not getting SMS messages immed. uninstall and let me know!
- added whitepages.com lookups

if you had the .net 3.5 framework and your phone activesynced it should have installed on your phone....or just search for the cab to put on your phone i know we have it here.

Re: Advanced Network Caller ID Updated v4 with StandAlone GUI

I installed and opened the application and clicked on look up and config and they both come up with an error message.

Re: Advanced Network Caller ID Updated v4 with StandAlone GUI

I don't get the error message anymore but the application doesn't seem like it is VGA compatible. You can't see the top of it and it doesn't look like the screen shots.

well as stated in the first post, he tested it on his Touch Pro and it worked fine "vga" and I'm using it flawlessly on my Touch Pro "vga" so there must have been an issue with ur install, i'd uninstall and try again... I've had no problems at all..

Did you download the cab that is uploaded to the site?

People that are using this on the TP...does the program look like the screen shots? This program does not work very well for me. It is almost unresponsive....ie takes about 20 seconds to respond to a tap and it only works once in a while

This version seems to be working much better.....at least as far as the interface and responsiveness. We will see about the amount of info provided. Here is the cab of the newest version.

I tried both of these, the .cab and the .msi files. While the .cab version did seem to show up better on screen, the .msi version had more info for the same calls. For example, with the msi one I got the name and carrier of the call, but with the .cab version installed the same info did not show up. Anyone else have that?

I'm running the v5 cab that i posted and I haven't got any info out of it.....for any number. What is msi? and what version are you talking about?
