if you right click the file goto properties/ compatibility tab the check the box for compatibility and choose run as xp.

but i've never had a problem running any garmin programs in xp, vista, or 7.

i think we may be missunderstanding each other I can not find the files we are supposed to delete, In the directory Garmin, delete gmapprom.img or gmapsupp.img I can not find those files I searched for them the only thing that showed up was the .rar files on my desktop from the download 22 files.

hahaha dude I so remember those days.

the file you need to delete is on your phone and its gmapsupp.img but with the map from the other thread, just rename the new map to gmapsupp.img and drop it in the garmin folder on your phone select yes to overwrite.

so should i forget about this or doesnt this serve a bigger purpose to have the maps on the pc like above? Long day and night lol hopefully I can get past this and get her back up and running will let ya know for sure this evening!!

Check your other thread,

You have two options 1. Wait 2. Become A premium member.... with rhapid share they only allow so many free users at a time, mid day seems to be pretty busy I find downloading at night or early morning is best, but a spot will open up just keep trying and trust me it is worth it!!

There are no more download slots available for free users right now. If you don't want to become a premium member, you might want to try again later."

Anyone care to re-up it? Thanks!!!!

I think I found my problem.... if I never downloaded the base maps then I would not be able to find this file would I? If that does not matter then which folder in the phone should it be in I have looked through all of them. Thanks

Ah... thanks for the advice. I was under the impression that as soon as "X" number of downloads had taken place, that was it.

I'll just.. you know... be patient! LOL.

mostlikely. You should really read the install instructions in the rar file for this post. you need to follow the directions, as they are time consuming and if you miss just one step, nothing will work. But yes you need the basemaps. also the program installs everything to the sd card, with the exception of one garmin folder on the phone itsself. ALL maps to on the storage card in the garmin folder.
